GQ Photo/Martin SchoellerGQ magazine announced their "Men of the Year" honors today, with none other than New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady making the list once again. Brady appears on one version of the special issue, which hits newsstands on November 24.
Brady was given the "Comeback of the Year" award after returning from his season-ending knee injury in 2008 to lead his team to big wins this season. He joins "Leader of the Year" Barack Obama, "Badass of the Year" Clint Eastwood, "Breakout of the Year" Chris Pine" and "Funnymen of the Year" the cast of The Hangover, Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis and Ed Helms.
The issue includes photos of Brady, doing, among other things, ironing, as well as an interview where he discusses family life, football and his impromptu wedding to supermodel Gisele Bundchen.
"We planned it in like ten days, and it was perfect," he told the magazine. "We went back to the house and I barbecued aged New York strips. We had champagne, a cake, some ice cream. It was a great night. I think you always have this idea that weddings need to be 200 people and you invite everybody, and I’m all for it if people want to do that, but I think there was really something special about just having our parents there."
For the record, Brady has appeared on the cover of the magazine twice before, including in 2005 and 2007, for their 50th anniversary celebration. Added with the most recent honor, that's three times more than Peyton Manning.
Goaltender Billy Sauer
Photo courtesy Toledo WalleyeThe Toledo Walleye announced today the addition of goaltender Billy Sauer to their roster. Sauer joins the team in place of goaltender Alec Richards, who started the season in Toledo before he was called back to the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL last weekend.
Sauer came up through the USHL, playing for the Chicago Steel in the 2004-05 season. The following year he began his collegiate career with the Michigan Wolverines. Recording his statistically best season in 2007-08 with Michigan, Sauer tallied a .924 save percentage and an impressive 1.95 goals allowed in 38 games. He won 30 games that season, allowing just 74 goals. The New York native opened the 2009-10 season with the Charlotte Checkers, playing in five games. He was recalled to the Lake Erie Monsters of the AHL just days before joining the Walleye.

"Adriana and Marko are thrilled to announce they had a baby girl, Valentina Lima Jaric," the statement read. "Mother, father and baby are all doing well." The model and professional athlete met at a 2006 party in Los Angeles. The became engaged on June 12, 2008, Lima's 27th birthday, then tied the knot in a private ceremony on Valentine's Day earlier this year. While Lima never pictured herself married and expecting her first child, after announcing the pregnancy, she spilled her desires to have a big family. Jaric was equally excited about the pending addition, telling People, "Even in my wildest days I knew that I wanted to be the ultimate family man... We're ready to settle down." Lima is widely known for being a Victoria's Secret angel, as well as the face of Maybelline cosmetics. The Brazilian beauty was ranked the fourth-highest earning supermodel in both 2007 and 2008 by Forbes Magazine. Serbian basketball player Jaric spent several seasons playing professionally in Italy before coming to the National Basketball Association in 2002. He spent three seasons each with the Los Angeles Clippers and Minnesota Timberwolves, then was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies in 2008.
Tom Brady looks on after missing a crucial fourth-down play.
AP Photo/Darron CummingsVisiting their rival Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium, the New England Patriots fell just short last night, losing to the Colts 35 to 34. The highly anticipated game lived up to the hype, and although the Patriots were dominant, unfortunate decisions and failed opportunities gave the Colts the victory.
Tom Brady put up good numbers in the game, topping Peyton Manning, to connect on 29 of 42 attempts for 375 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. The Patriots were down just twice in the game, after Indianapolis' opening score and their final touchdown late in the game. New England was up 24 to 14 at halftime, increasing the lead to 31 to 14 early in the fourth quarter. Their lead slowly dwindled as the game wound down with the Colts scoring three times for the win. With 2:33 left in the game, New England called their second timeout on what Brady called bad communication. Moving the ball eight yards, they used their final timeout just before the two-minute warning to ponder a fourth-and-two situation. Head coach Bill Belichick decided to go for it, and Brady's short pass to Kevin Faulk nearly connected for the first down, but Faulk bobbled the ball and was tackled short. While the Patriots could have challenged the ruling, they were out of timeouts and forced to hand the ball to the Colts at the New England 28-yard line.

The Walleye appeared to open the scoring midway though the first period when Dominic Osman got the puck past Everblades goaltender Mike Morrison. The goal was however waived off after the official determined Morrison held it long enough to earn a whistle.

Mark Bernard, the Chicago Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League Affiliations, announced today that the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League have recalled three players from the Toledo Walleye, their ECHL affiliate.
Forward Maxime Tanguay, goaltender Alec Richards and defenseman J.C. Sawyer were recalled just hours before the Walleye were set to play their third game of the road trip against the Florida Everblades. The players are expected to join the IceHogs as they face the Abbotsford Heat tonight.
Playing in the second game of the three-game series against the Florida Everblades, the Toledo Walleye were defeated tonight with a score of 4-3. An early lead and amazing saves from Walleye goaltender Alec Richards just fell short as Florida took the win in a shootout.
Jamie Milam put the Walleye on the penalty kill just seven seconds in on a delay of game call, but Toledo was able to kill the penalty and prevent an early Florida lead.
The tables were turned later in the period when the Walleye were given a five-on-three advantage. The highly successful line of Adam Hobson, Maxime Tanguay and Evan Rankin capitalized on the power play, opening the scoring with Hobson notching his fifth goal of the season.

"Unfortunately, pornography has become mainstreamed -- it rushes at us through big screens, portable screens; soft-core porn is on mainstream TV cable stations, hard-core porn is just a mouse click away on the internet, and the envelope of what seems acceptable seems to get pushed farther and farther as more and more people are exposed to this material. The result is that girls grow up in a culture where it is hard to have an innocent, healthy, normal view of themselves, how they should behave, how they should act, and how they should dress."
