Professional football quarterback Jeff Smoker played college football with the Michigan State Spartans. He was drafted in 2004 by the St. Louis Rams, but spent the majority of his time in the National Football League on practice squads.More recently, Smoker has played in the Arena Football League, including with the Arizona Rattlers since 2008. Smoker also attended the October 3, 2009, game between the Michigan State Spartans and the Michigan Wolverines.
