The Portage, Michigan, native Evan Rankin joins former Notre Dame teammate Jordan Pearce on the Toledo Walleye roster as they get set for their inaugural season in 2009-2010.
Rankin's success was seen early, recording 85 points in 70 games in the juniors to earn selections as the MVP of the 2002 Silver Sticks Bantam AAA tournament and an invitation to the tournament all-star team. His impressive junior career continued in 2003, when he recorded a 93-point season with AAA Honeybaked, then went on to help the USA Under-18 Select Team win the gold medal at the Under-18 World Cup.
