Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry
Following a concert in Abu Dhabi, Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler reportedly quit the long-standing band. The news comes just after the band canceled its 2009 tour after Tyler fell off a stage back in August, breaking his shoulder.
Word circulated back in October that the band was set to go on indefinite hiatus, but that changed this week when guitarist Joe Perry told the press that Tyler had quit the band. Perry told the Las Vegas Sun, "Steven quit as far as I can tell... I saw online that Steven said that he was going to leave the band. I don’t know for how long, indefinitely or whatever. Other than that, I don’t know." Communication with Tyler has been problematic in the past for band members, with Perry adding "He’s notorious for that... He has had no contact with me or the other band members."
